Whales and Dolphins of the North American Pacific by Graeme Cresswell, Dylan Walker and Todd Pusser. This is an excellent book so don't be put off by the North American Pacific bit in the title. The species section is very good but it is the first few chapters of the book that make it one of the best cetacean books around at the moment. The chapters on identification and key features of the cetacean are good but the behaviour section is worth buying the book for on  its own. There are great pictures of blowing and fluking and the behaviour section is really great with surfacing sequences of the great whales. Whales and Dolphins of the European Atlantic by Graeme Cresswell and Dylan Walker. This is a good local identification guide. This is the first edition but there is a new 2nd edition available. The reccomended price for the new book is £12. The Silver Dolphin sale price for the original is £5. Postage extra if you want it sent to you. 

On the Trail of the Whale by Mark Carwardine, is not an identification guide but the sort of book to take on a trip when you need something good to read. This is a collection of Marks adventures searching for whales around the globe. There are excellent pictures throughout and is the sort of book that will give you ideas for your next whale watching trip. Reccomended price £9.95. Silver Dolphin sale Price £5. plus postage. 

Whales and Dolphins by Robin Kerrod is one for the kids. It is a very educational book with good photos explaining migration, feeding and stranding in a good scientific way that children can understand. Reccomended price £5. Half price in the silver dolphin sale £2.05p.

Killer Whales is by Robin Baird one of the worlds leading cetacean specialists. This book covers the life of the Killer Whale or Orca. Chapters include Foraging and feeding, Sound and senses, Conservation and research on Killer Whales. Filled with great photos this is an excellent book. Silver dolphin sale price £8.

We stock Cressi-Sub dive gear as it is top of the range dive kit that we dive with.Its the same as we use on our divecourses. So if you come diving with us you can try our school kit to see what its like before buying. If you want a certain item we can usually get it in a couple of days. We also stock a selection of books and have video's by John Boyle the local marine wildlife film maker who has won many awards.

If you look at the photos of us diving you will see that we do really use the kit ourselves. If you come on one of our dive courses you will be able to try Cressi-Sub equipment for yourself and if you like it we can probably get it before your course is over, if not we can have it delivered to your home. We also stock the little things like mask straps and fin straps that might save your dive, so call in if you are in the area.

The lontra is a 7mm semi-dry  suit that you notice worn by staff and students at the centre. We think its a great suit only costs £156. Also available is a hooded jacket for the cold water dives. the full suit can also be worn with a hood, normally£14 but by the suit and the hood come free.

The playa is a 2.5mm shortie just right for playing on the beach or taking on a tropical holiday to the Caribbean. Ladies comes in yellow, mens is available in blue, at a price of £52.
